Increasing Competition In The Electric Commercial Vehicle Space

Farizon Auto is the commercial vehicle group of Geely, a major Chinese automobile manufacturer. The firm launched a new electric semi-truck this week with a planned roll out in 2024, across markets in Europe Korea, Japan and North America. This comes at a time when numerous manufacturers are set to soon release electric semi-trucks, and where Tesla’s own Semi (announced in 2017) has been delayed numerous times.

According to CNBC, Farizon Auto’s Homtruck was built with autonomous driving in mind, and will receive over the air updates to add autonomous functionality. The plan is for partially autonomous driverless features at launch, and full autonomy in 2030.
